Is it legal to use the Harley Davidson name and logo for our company’s promotion at a tradeshow?

Can you answer Bradley B’s question about Trade Shows?:

We will be giving a Harley Davidson bike away at a tradeshow and are concerned about using their name and logo in our preshow and show advertising. We will not be charging for anything, but can we legally use these?

Trade Shows Feedback: Not without their permission or the permission of a franchised dealer

Trade Shows Feedback: No, you could get into alot of trouble. They could sue if they wanted to & you would lose. You would have to have their permission.

Trade Shows Feedback: Yes, as long as your promotion does not misrepresent Harley-Davidson. Best advice is to contact Harley-Davidson legal department to make sure your promotion is ok with them. Especially since you are entering a trade show.

If youre buying a harley why not ask the dealer for their support - it would also make me come to your stand if you had a HARLEY on it - not just a flyer saying you can win one!

let us know how it goes!

Trade Shows Feedback: NO…HD is a trademark…unless you can afford a major lawsuit I suggest you contact them for permission.
