Is it tacky an employer to advertise for an employee position at a trade show?

Can you answer devhancock’s question about Trade Shows?:

We are heading to a trade show in an area that we are looking for a new sales employee. Is it tacky to advertise for this position at the tradeshow?

Trade Shows Feedback: Yes, especially if it is YOUR job he is advertising.

Trade Shows Feedback: I would not do it. It shows weakness in a venue where you are trying to impress. However, there is nothing wrong with bringing it up verbally with folks that you are conversing with.

Trade Shows Feedback: Tacky? one mans tacky is an others candy.
a big sign would be maybe tacky.
picking up the other guys cards then asking if they know any one they know in the market for a position. that has worked successfully for us for years. they get to you if interested. a visible sign at your booth also works.

Trade Shows Feedback: No, everyone does. That’s one of the reasons people go to trade shows-to find jobs
