Cost To Rent A Trade Show Display

But before you attend your first trade show, you need to have a display. It is typical for most companies to allot almost a third of their marketing budge to creating their trade show presence, which includes renting or buy a trade show display. But how much does it cost to rent a display? Could it be a better plan for your business?
What Makes a Great Trade Show Exhibit?
The best trade show exhibits give potential customers a memorable and positive view of the company. In addition, they attract potential customers and make it easier to achieve sales, while still controlling traffic to your booth and presenting a positive view of your company. Additionally a great trade show exhibit needs to stay within your budget.
Cost to Buy a Display
Before evaluating the cost of trade show display rental, you need to know what it would cost to buy a display. Custom trade show displays can retail in the neighborhood of $10,000 to $20,000 and can take about six weeks to be created. Prices are lower for simpler displays, such as about $1,000 for a simple table-top version. This upfront investment is a hardship for many new business or smaller companies and can handicap the marketing efforts of the company.
Trade Show Exhibit Rental Costs
Renting a trade show display can be a great solution for small businesses, those who have not exhibited in the past, and those who attend only a few trade shows a year. Additionally, renting a trade show display is a smart move for businesses that have double bookings, since it is only possible to have your display at one trade show at a time.
The cost of renting a trade show exhibit is about 30-40 percent the cost of owning an exhibit. So for a very basic table-top display, you could pay as little as $300. This is a significant cost savings over purchasing a display.
Other Advantages of Rental
There are several other advantages to renting a trade show display, rather than making the large initial investment of purchasing one:
- Renting provides flexibility. Renting a trade show display gives you the option to change your mind about how you want to represent your company. Perhaps you initial trade show exhibit design failed to impress customers at a recent show. If you are renting, you can make changes and end up with a better result. If you own your display, you are stuck with what you have.
- There’s less commitment associated with renting a display. Maybe you don’t know if you want to keep going to trade shows. You may find that they are not the best way for your company to market itself. If trade shows end up not being for you, you can stop renting your display. If you own your display, you are stuck with it.
- Renting may also make more sense if you are an infrequent attendant at trade shows. Some companies go to trade shows all the time, but others simply attend once or twice a year. If you are not a frequent trade show attendant, renting may be the best way for you to spend your trade show marketing budget.

Help with Trade Show display ideas?

I’m working on a display (tri fold board) for a trade show our company is doing at the end of the month. We are a commercial painting company, and I’m having a hard time figuring out what sort of information should be on the board, since we don’t have a real, tangible, product. I was thinking about including some before and after photos of our work, as well as some information on “Green” products that we’ve been making greater use of. If you have any other suggestions, they would be more than welcome. I’m trying to keep wording to a minimum so the display is “at a glance” friendly.

The idea of any business is to attract customers who will buy their goods. And what better way to do this than using banner stands to advertise about your goods and services. Based on the target audience which you have in mind, you can choose where to set up your advertisement and attract people towards what you want to sell. This is one great and simple way to come to the notice of the public. Banner stands have been found by many people to be an effective medium for advertising.
Anything different has the capacity to attract people. Likewise if you tell your message in a different way through the use of banner stands, you are bound to catch the attention of people. Just make sure that your banner is entirely different from the other banners that are in display in the trade show. Banner stands are of different types and sizes. They can be telescopic, retractable, portable, rollup and pole. With so many options for an individual to choose from, nothing can go wrong in choosing a banner stand to advertise about your goods.
The most commonly used type of banner stand is portable banner stand. There are several advantages of using portable banner stands for advertising. First, the cost of using portable banner stand is comparatively low than other stands. Second portable banner stands are easy to install and disintegrate. All one needs to do is put up the portable banner stand at a vantage point and at the end of the day just assemble it back without any hassles.
That is not all, banner stands can be reused a number of times. So after you have used it once, you can store it and make use of it the next time when you have to advertise anything. Due to these advantages, portable banner stands are a huge hit among many people. Portable banners stands are also easier to pack and transport from one place to another.
What you need to consider very carefully is the task to find out the right type of banner stands. For indoor and outdoor exhibitions, you cannot use the same banner stands. Roll up or retractable banner stands will be ideal to set up in an indoor exhibition, as there can be a shortage of space. If you are using banner stands to set up an outside advertisement, make sure that they are weather proof. You never know when you can suddenly encounter rain, dew or wind outside. Advertisement through the use of banner stands or any other medium has the capacity to reach out to a wide audience.

Most Popular Sizes of Banner Stands

There are several different types of banner stands on the market today, but there are a few types and sizes that stand out in popularity. What are the most popular banner stand types? Why do certain sizes of banner stands have more of an edge?
Sizes of Table-Top Banner Stands
Considered an entry-level banner stand, table top banner stands provide the impact of a banner at a reasonable price. They come in a variety of formats, and they offer a great way to add visual appeal to your table-top display.
Popular sizes of table-top banner stands include 24 inches high, 18 inches high, and 42 inches high. Choosing the right height for a table-top banner stand depends on several factors, such as price and portability.
However, the most important thing to consider when choosing the size of your table-top banner stand is how the size will fit with the rest of your display. You don’t want the banner stand overwhelming the rest of your materials.
Sizes of Roll-Up Banner Stands
Roll-Up banner stands provide the ultimate in banner stand portability. The banner rolls up or down on the stand and offers very easy setup. To set up the banner, you simply roll it out and connect it to the other end of the stand.
Some of the most popular sizes of roll-up banner stands include 78 inches high and 84 inches high. These sizes are large enough to get noticed and are easy to read from a distance, both important features for a trade show display.
It’s hard to miss life-size banners at a trade show. Even though they cost a bit more than table-top versions, they really draw people in.
Choosing the right size of roll-up banner stand is really a matter of budget. In general, the large the stand, the more you have to pay. However, it’s also important to consider the visual impact of these larger stands.
Sizes of Tension Pole Banner Stands
The main advantage of tension pole banner stands is that minimal hardware is seen on the front of the banner, allowing the main focus to be on the graphic. Surprisingly, this option is less expensive than many other banner stands and is a more practical alternative for some companies.
A disadvantage of these type of banner stands is that the banner must be unrolled manually, causing the system to have a shorter life span than some other banner stands.
Popular sizes for tension pole banner stands include 48 inches high, 60 inches high, 72 inches high, and 80 inches high. The height of these banner stands makes them a great and highly affordable option for adding vertical aspects to your trade show display.
Choosing the Right Size of Banner Stand
There are several factors to consider when choosing any type of banner stand. The same is true for choosing size. The following factors are important to consider in your selection:
- How often will you be using the banner stand? Do you need it to be extremely durable?
- How large is your display? Do you want the banner stand to be the main focus?
- What is your budget?
These are just a few questions to keep in mind before you determine what size banner stand will help make your company stand out from the rest.
