Competitive business depends on special events that bring a brand recall for companies. Participating in major trade shows is an important activity for business. They are quite effective ways of getting new clients and building a rapport with the existing clients.

Whether it is a single event or participating in a trade show with other rivals, what works is a proper organisation of sales kits, brochures, and being totally equipped to handle queries. Any show or event dates are announced well in advance. Today these events and platforms are recognised platforms for increasing business. They have become an industry themselves. Niche exhibitions like that of real estate, architecture, IT, gifts and promotions, wholesale markets of plastics, toys, manufacturers of home products and hospitality are annual events worldwide. Regular participants have proved that these events hold viable business propositions.

All over the world trade shows attract millions of customers and business visitors. These events help people to make decisions, strike attractive deals, help people to showcase their products and attract new customers. In such exhibitions competition is face to face and it allows people to evaluate and chose the best. Trade shows are well covered by the media and gives an opportunity for traders to know each other. Organising a trade show can be a tedious exercise. It takes almost a year for a single show to be organised meticulously. For organising a show that will last three days or five days, the organisers have to choose a viable location, make sure potential exhibitors are interested in coming on those dates, make proper stalls/booths, reception, internet facilities, media desk and provide a platform for business. A good trade show, today, is much more than just getting maximum participants that can help the organiser to break even. Today organisers are aware that new rivals are making cuts with smaller events. Some organisers get speakers for all days to attract visitors. Seminars and press conferences and entertainment help in keeping the interest alive.

With the availability of high technology and multi-media, the importance of international trade shows has gained importance and so the industry of event management. Places Singapore, Malaysia and Dubai are proving to be great trade hubs for events and special shows. They are economical, centrally located and attract businessmen. Over the years, the visitor profiles have increased as the shows keep improving. The infrastructure facilities, holiday packages and comfortable stay for delegates have become better. Regular organisers have a reputation of providing a good platform for business.

If you are an event professional keep in mind what facilities other organisers are providing. To keep participants from switching over to a different organiser, it is essential to provide them with all necessary tools to showcase their products. Participants keep loyal to organisers who give them opportunity to increase their business and give extra mileage. To put in order any special event or show it should not clash with any organiser's dates of a similar type. It is not good business ethics and will not attract participation in future.
